An iron porch swing will last for years without rusting provided you take good care of it. Plastic porch swings are a new addition to this market. They are a good option for anyone who is on a tight budget and wishes to have a porch swing installed in their lawn. Plastic is highly weather resistant. It is also light in weight and easy to carry. The best part is that it requires minimum maintenance. You can simply install it and forget about it.
Caring for your porch swing
If you want your porch swing or your porch swing glider to last really long, then you need to take good care of it. Taking care doest only mean wiping it with a piece of wet cloth. You need to observe the paint, the joints and the chain that hangs the swing. This should be a monthly or a weekly affair and you should make a habit of doing it regularly. Use anti rust to coat the chains regularly and this will prevent rust from setting in. If you are using wooden porch swings, then use chemical coatings to protect the wood.
