They are as sturdy as they can get and can withstand harsh weather and strong winds as well. They come in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors as well.

The kind of patio umbrella that you choose depends on your requirements. If you are looking to snuggle up with your partner under the umbrella and are looking for some increased privacy, then opt for a larger sized umbrella. These come in sizes that range from 6 feet to 11 feet in diameter. While it cannot guarantee absolute privacy, it does assure you a safe romantic getaway. You can choose a round one or an octagonal one. The umbrella can be a stand alone one or it can be fit in the middle of a patio table. If you do not wish to use the patio table to set the umbrella up and wish to carry it with you to the beach or a remote corner of the lawn, then you need to buy an umbrella stand. These work as the base of the umbrella and allow you to set up the umbrella just about anywhere that you wish to.

If you want your patio umbrella to last really long, then proper storage is a must. Investing in an umbrella cover is a good idea as it enables you to store your umbrella safely even when you are not using it.
