Line Up Your Patio with Patio Dining Chairs
We all love to spend some quiet relaxing time in the lawn or in the patio. Picture this; you are sitting pretty on a classic lawn chair with a barbeque close by and a drink in your hand. Does not it seem wonderful? However, in order to make it really comfortable you need to have quality patio furniture. These are ideal for all kinds of events in your patio. We used to have a blast with spur of the moment picnics on our patio. Patio furniture has really evolved today and the days of the solitary Adirondack chair are long gone. Along with the chairs, you have patio benches, tables, gliders, racks and lounges to choose from. But shopping for patio furniture is not as easy as you think. Different people have different requirements. If you live alone, then one patio chair and one table might be sufficient for you. On the contrary, if you have a family of four and your son baseball team decides to come to your place for a party, then you need more furniture.

The first that you need to do is look closely at your patio and start to visualize it with outdoor furniture. Try and allot space to each piece of furniture. But make sure that they are well spaced. The last thing you need is a patio that is cramped with furniture. What are your requirements? Are you an outdoor person? Do you love to party outdoors with your family on the patio? Well, then you need to have a combination of a few items. A few chairs to start with, an Adirondack rocking chair for your child and you, a side table to hold the drinks and a separate rack for the potted plants are some of the most basic pieces of patio furniture.
Choosing patio furniture
There was a time when garden furniture and patio furniture was limited to the shades of brown as most of these were made of wood. But now you can choose from bright citrus colored furniture as well. Patio furniture manufacturers have chosen to go beyond the norm and eliminated the bland colors. So start by visiting patio furniture showroom or patio furniture catalogs on the internet. Make sure that you browse and select at least three to four different sets of furniture for your patio. Selecting furniture should not just be about the price. Look for the warranty and the quality of the items as well. If you are choosing wood, then cedar is the most recommended one. It looks good and lasts long. Oak, pine and teak are also quite good. Some websites also offer patio sets which are a set of three or four items. There is no harm in buying a set of items if it fits your requirements.
Caring for your furniture
When you invest in patio furniture, I am sure that you would want it to last for years. Well, most quality wooden furniture does last for years provided you take good care of it. There are several chemical cleaners and oils available which not only enhance the look of the furniture but also protect it against the vagaries of weather. Clean the furniture regularly and if you wish to protect it against harsh weather, then store it in a safe place. Only use warm and mild soapy water to clean the furniture. Do not use hard brushes and strong cleaning agents as these tend to discolor the wood. Whenever the wood starts to fade into a dull gray, use stainers to regain its luster.
