3dethatcher wanted as accessory  May 17, 2008
I had the circuit breaker cut the power once. Other than that it has been solid. It won't do the same work as a big gas model so buy the right size for your project and soil conditions.

One item for wish list, I wish it had as an accessory a dethatching attachment. It would be like the mantis dethatcher. I can't find one for remington. I'd rather have bought a mantis then so that I can have the dethatcher also.

I have issued a complaint to [...] for not having a dethatcher attachment.

5I almost didn't buy this because of a couple of negative reviews, but...  Apr 18, 2008
I almost didn't buy this because of a couple of negative reviews, but I did.

One reviewer said that roots caused a plastic gear to strip out. I used this tiller, and the tiller "discovered" some metal posts that were underground. No problem, no damage. I think the "secret" is to use this tiller, like any tiller, properly: you go gently into the soil: you don't ram it down.

Another reviewer reported problems because it couldn't handle turf. Mine did fine (although I will admit that I have loamy soil, here near Lake Michigan; I don't know how well it would do in clay soil).

Yet another reviewer reported that the circuit breaker kept tripping. Mine did a couple of times, too. But I believe that happens when the tiller is overworked, and begins to overheat. In other words, give it a break. And a good signal to give yourself a break, as well.

Bottom line: this tiller greatly exceeded my expectations. I have grown weary of renting tillers, and no absolutely no intention to subjecting myself to the hassle of buying a gasoline tiller (and especially the polluting two-cycle mini-tillers).

I'm glad I bought this, and wish it was available years ago!

1Tiller is great when it runs  Apr 06, 2008
My wife bought this tiller for me. I only till in loose soil, raised beds, etc. This thing really chomps the ground up, then it quits. Circuit breaker has kicked. At first I thought it was roots wrapped around the tines but in loose soil? I was only tilling and after a little while bam, circuit breaker kicks out.

This does a great job (while it's running) and I don't have to mess with gas and mixing oil but if I were to ask for another small tiller, it would not be an electric. I might research a little more also.

5damaged in transit by UPS, but works very well  Nov 03, 2007
I received my tiller a week ago, box and tiller damaged...typical UPS delivery. The tiller has plenty of power and works very well. Other reviews state that the circuit breaker keeps tripping and is a problem. I think this is due to using an under size extension cord. The box tells you what guage to use for what length of cord. I have had no problems when using a 14 guage 50 foot extension cord.

4My experience with Rototiller  Oct 27, 2007
It's hard to use in heavily wedded garden. Other than that I highly recommend this rototiller.
