Fantastic! Jun 23, 2008 This thing is too good to be true. Drag your hose across the lawn and set up the Orbit Traveling Sprinkler so that it tracks back along the path of the hose, and it will move.
However, it doesn't move very fast. It will take a couple of hours to traverse the length of my 100' hose. I sat and watched it for the better part of an hour, and it clearly had made progress but I couldn't actually see the wheels moving. But that's what you want- you want to soak the ground. In addition, the two arms spout water that spirals out, covering a diameter of at least fifteen feet.
It did get stuck making a turn while going down a hill. It tipped over and one of the arms was caught in the grass. But it was easy to fix and set right again.
I recommend it. It's a cool, useful, interesting product.
Worth buying, but read directions carefully! May 21, 2008 Purchased at Sam's Club ($45) today. Took about 20 minutes to figure out which way to point the arms as sprinkler wanted to travel backwards originally. But once that's figured out, this thing works GREAT! It's currently watering my long, large back yard that is not a turf lawn, but growing with a mixture of dryland grass. Seems to be handling the bumps and turns fine. A bit muddy if you don't have filled in areas, but that's not stopping this workhorse. Worth it at Sam's Club price. Has some difficulty if you have a lot of dirt, because mud makes sprinkler labor to pull along hose. Overall, I'd buy it again and would recommend it to others.

Just plain doesn't work May 14, 2008 As mentioned in another review, this is sold at Home Depot for $57. I would have been much more disappointed if I had ordered it by mail for $100.
When I opened the box, it was obvious that it been opened and returned before. (Probably because the person couldn't make it work!) The manual had water spots and the packaging was all torn up.
I gave it a go anyway, as it SEEMS like a solid product and only has 3 pieces to assemble. It is difficult to assemble anyway and the manual makes no sense. When hooked up to the water supply, the arms spun for a minute in a wide circle that soaked everything except the grass it sat on and the thing didn't move an inch.
I tried moving the "easily adjustable arms" and over the next hour of fussing with this thing, I never saw the arms turn again. Nor did it EVER travel anywhere!
I'll be returning this in the morning and probably will purchase either the Nelson or Craftsman model.
Bottom line: Don't waste your time or money on this inferior product.
Home Depot sells it for $57 Jul 15, 2007 Have not been able to make it travel after 3 hours of fiddling with it. However after it started working it was great! Would change the rating to 5.
