3Yellow? not green ivy?  Jan 18, 2008
The spinkler looks fairly heavy duty.
It's winter. I won't be testing it for a bit. But the photo shows a green base. Yes, Ivy is green.

What was delivered to me was yellow.
I've tried to contact Amazon for a correction and am getting no where.

Yellow was not offered as a choice in the ordering process.

A truely unpleasant surprise for Christmas. TK - St. Louis

1Very uneven spray pattern.  May 27, 2007
While this sprinkler is heavier because of the metal base, the spray patterns do not uniformly water the selected shape. In almost all cases, this will water the perimeter of the selected pattern because of the way the nozzle is designed. For example, if you select a circle, it sprays water up in a cone so it lands around the perimeter of the circle while the center stays dry. The same is true of most of the other patterns.

Sometimes its seems like these manufacturers (I mean all of them) have people designing sprinklers who have never had a yard. Anyone with a brain knows that uniform coverage is an important feature of a sprinkler.

I suggest you check out the Gilmour Turret Sprinkler. While I'm not particularly a fan of Gilmour, their version of this product is much better in that the spray patterns consist of many holes that provide a much more uniform soaking of the area they cover. While the Gilmour plastic, it is also cheaper. I've had one for a year and use it for spot watering dry areas to keep my water bill down. I plan to pitch this Nelson and get another Gilmour.

5Wow! It's metal . . .  Jan 03, 2007
This is a quality heavy weight sprinkler that will stay where you put it. It is a bit larger than I expected, and stronger in it's spray. Of course it can be turned down to fit the tiniest spot in your garden.
