The uniquely rich grilling planks can be used with all charcoal and gas barbeques. Each wood is unique- the cedar grilling planks lends a sweet spicy flavor while the alder grilling planks lends a smoky flavor. Easy to use, just soak the plank, place it on a hot grill until it smokes, then arrange and place meat, seafood or vegetables on the plank to cook. If the planks are not exceedingly charred or crack they can be reused or just crumble the pieces up and place into the bottom of the barbeque and reuse as smoking chips. Great for grilling May 06, 2010 The work great. Read the instructions on soaking the plank. Only thing is I did not receive the advertised cook book.

I like these planks! Aug 28, 2008 So far I have used one of each type of wood. The cedar adds a bit more flavor to fish than the alder does, however the alder seems to char less than the cedar does. Both are great for grilling your fish, I have not tried it on other types of meat. One tip though, ensure that the wood is not over any part of your flame or you will burn the plank. I soaked them for at least 4 hours prior to their use, so they were saturated. I recommend these to any grilled fish lover, it adds a very unique flavor to the fish - yum!
