Better look than performance. Jan 09, 2009 A good-looking piece but doesn't toast evenly....toasts came out very brown at the top and not toasted at all on the bottom....if you increase the temperature, the top comes burnt.
I expected more from Krups.
A Little Disappointed Dec 12, 2008 I purchased this item with the hopes that it would toast my bread with one try. Thought, because it's a big name brand and quite a few more bucks than your run of the mill toaster, it might work better.
Nope!! I still need to put it down twice, watching it the second time or it'll burn, just like the cheap ones.
Might be because we don't use the full-of-air white bread but whole and sprouted grain breads.
Yes, the setting used is the highest. It's like most everything else these days, not made like they used to.
Consequently, I am a bit disappointed.
Nice lift feature Dec 12, 2008 This has been the 3rd toaster we bought in the last 2 years. The problem with the other 2 is that our kids would have things jam up inside and they could not lift out their items very easily. This toaster not only can lift out your items for easy access, it toasts them fast too. We had to threaten the kids by saying if they broke this toaster they would have to buy the next one. So I guess this toaster is saving everyone some $$$.
Nice toaster but could be better Nov 30, 2008 We got this toaster as a wedding gift from our wedding registry and it's nice looking with lots of options. The only problems are that the toaster slots are a little small and don't fit all types of bread. Also, depending on the size and thickness of the bread the toaster doesn't always toast evenly, leaving some corners untoasted. Overall it's fine but you can find something better.

Best ever Nov 22, 2008 Does everything it is advertised to do and is safe - the sides are well insulated and do not heat up.
