This immersion blender provides efficient powerful blending at any speed, as well as chopping and whisking. Its motor is designed for quiet, long-life operation and thoroughly blends both hot and cold foods. The stainless steel blending attachment features a splashguard with air slots to increase flow during blending. Unlike plastic attachments, it won't stain when you work with tomatoes, curries, and berries. Its 8" length allows you to blend in deep pots or pitchers. You'll find this an extremely handy tool for pureeing soups, vegetables, baby food, and beverages. With the whisk and chopper attachments you can also create whipped desserts, dressings, dips, and chopped nuts, veggies, meat and other foods.

Powerful but plastic disc came loose Jan 09, 2009 The plastic disc between the blade and the housing came loose and got caught in the blades chopping some of the plastic into my smoothie which I unknowingly drank. When I asked Sur La Table(specialty kitchen store) if that part could be replaced I saw that their Kitchenaid demo's disc was also loose and had been sheared by the blade. I've had Cuisinart and Braun in the past and their motors burned out. This one was my favorite so far. I guess I'll have to get a Viking next and hopefully last.
Does the Job Jan 03, 2009 We recently purchased after seeing a review on America's Test Kitchen. For certain tasks it is much easier than pulling out the blender or cuisinart. Though those devices still have a their place, this baby isn't going to shred any cheese. This is quicker on the clean-up side. The chopper accessory does a good job chopping onions. No more tears. Have not tried it yet, but confident that it will do a good job with shakes and smoothies. No more fighting the blender. You could save a couple of dollars by buying the same blender sans the attachments and accessories. When I have had an issue with other Kitchen Aid products I have had a very good customer service experience. Don't antcipate anything at this point in time, but feel confident should the occasion arise. Because it is niche product I would only recommed for someone that spends a fair amount of time in the kitchen.
Whip it good! Oct 14, 2008 This KitchenAid stick blender is versatile, powerful, and easy to use/clean.
I like the chopper attachment it actually works very well.
The unit seems to be well made and I believe it will last a long time.
Sudden Soup Need Fulfilled Oct 01, 2008 The Hand Blender arrived as promised on the day after we realized that we didn't have what we needed to create a soup. Wow! What a joy to have this blender work perfectly. I kept searching for faults and found none.

Strong, but a bit big Aug 27, 2008 We've had this model for 3+ years, and use it regularly to make smoothies, soups, and process foods like nuts, chocolate, etc. It's very strong and can chew through anything with only the slightest bogging. It's very tall, however, and we have to remove pots from the stove to blend (like pea soup) or else mixer will hit the hood.
