Really nice - high quality Jan 05, 2009 I'm very pleased with this slicer. It's not overly large, but certainly big enough to tackle most of the cheese slicing tasks I encounter. It got quite the workout over the holidays when my family, serious cheese-lovers all, descended for a visit. This little unit held up beautifully, showing no signs of wear and tear.
Be sure to read the enclosed instructions -- the slicer is shipped with the slicer mechanism a little off-center. You need to pull the handle out about 1/2" in order to line up the cutting wire with the slot. After that, it's fine, but don't try to slice cheese with this until you've made that adjustemnt or you could break the wire. The instructions explain what you need to do.
In my opinion, this is the closest thing to a perfect cheese slicer that I've found.
End Grain Cheese Slicer Dec 29, 2008 Thanksgiving day my son used my cheese slicer that I had purchased on a trip to California this summer and was green with envy! He said he'd been looking for this type of slicer for a long time, without success. That night I visited Amazon and found the exact same type and brand, purchased it and had it sent directly to his home as a surprise. The slicer was received as promised four days later! I was visiting his home, which is two hours from mine, the day it was received. He was so pleased to have his own to use. Thank you for selling such a wonderful product.
Best way to slice cheese Dec 12, 2008 I had been looking for a slicer like this in the stores and couldn't find one. I could not slice cheese evenly with a knife. This works extremely well.
Evaluation of Cheese Slicer Dec 01, 2008 I have ordered other cheese slicers, and this one is the best. It slices quickly, easily, and efficiently. Slicing thinly enhances the taste of the cheese and is an important quality. I would recommend it to anyone who wished a quality slicer.

Great product Oct 22, 2008 I had a marble version of this same product, made by a different company, for years. Eventually, all the wires broke and I replaced them with thin picture wire. Then, however, the handle cracked and fell apart and it was time for something new.
I decided to try something different since the marble piece had been a little bit cumbersome. Initially, I bought a really cool handheld piece with a wire and roller, as well as the ability to adjust the thickness of the slices. It was horrible. The wire wouldn't stay taught, it was unable to finish slices smoothly, and in general was a giant step backward.
So, I thought I'd go back to what I new in the form of this product. However, I chose this one because I thought the wood board looked better than a marble one and I was hoping it would be a little lighter. I wasn't dissappointed. It looks great, works very well on all types of cheeses, and due to it's light weight stores very easily. Great product, I'm very pleased.
