Nice ,but could be great Nov 11, 2008 When I first looked at this machine I thought it was 1800 watts, that is what I wanted. It heats up fairly fast and cooks a lot of food at one time but does drop heat quickly with a lot of food in the basket.I think 3 pounds is out of the question for this cooker at one time.I must say that 6 to 7 large chicken wings drops heat about 20 degreesbut recovers fast enough to still allow fast sear as to not allow grease to soak into the meat.I am very pleased at how easy it is to clean. Well made and I very much like the drain valve. Now they only need a 1800 watt coil and that will make it great!
Poor Product Oct 11, 2008 I purchased this product on 10/5/08 and it worked one day only. I cooked fries, fish, and shrimp at a temperature that the owners manual suggested. The taste was fantastic, but...The unit will not turn on (no display) which indicates that the thermal protection must have been activated (must be replaced by a service center). I'm returning the unit and looking for a better quality brand.
Best one yet Sep 04, 2008 The DeLonghi frier is much sturdier and easier to use than any other frier I've owned. Not at all sorry I bought it.

Horrible!! Oct 15, 2007 We bought this fryer roughly 3 months ago at a 'discount warehouse'. We should have never bought it. It worked fine up to about a month ago and it just errors out while trying to heat the oil. Now it won't even heat just keeps beeping and erroring at us. Roughly 5 years ago we bought the same manufacturer deep fryer and had the SAME problem a few months after getting it. We use it on average of 2-3 times a week and I will NEVER buy another DeLonghi product again.
I was hoping that it would be fixed, but obviously there is something about these that when used a decent amount (which I wouldn't consider 2-3 times a week OVER using it) it doesn't want to work. We'll be looking at other manufacturers for our deep fryers from now on.

Best Fryer for a family of 2 or more! It 's Incredible! Aug 25, 2007 I bought this fryer mainly because of its capacity, we're a family of 4, and because I heard good things about it. I am so glad I did! This fryer cooks 3 pounds of food perfectly! I made a ton of homemade potato chips tonight. This fryer is easy to use and easy to clean, and, as a bonus, it's easy to drain so you can save your oil.
When I was a teenager I worked at Burger King, and cooking with this fryer made me feel like I was at the fry station again (not that I want to relive that feeling). But, really, it has an actual basket that lowers into the hot oil and it has a place to set the basket so when your food is done it drains properly.
My Chinese chicken and broccoli has never tasted so good! This fryer is a gem.
If you like to cook and want to cut down your cooking time on foods such as french fries, chicken, fish for tacos etc..., then this is definitely a purchase to make. Amazon has free shipping on this fryer which is why I bought it from them.
We had a Fry Daddy years ago, and there is absolutely no comparison whatsoever between the Fry Daddy and this Delonghi fryer. Delonghi is light years ahead.
This deep fryer won't disappoint!
