Used it three times so far, worked well - much better than the other means of lighting charcoal.

Just what I expected. No lighter fluid to contaminate the vessel and, over time, the food. A bent element would be the only improvement so the coals would more evenly heat.

Awesome product, just place it in the grill, surround it in charcoal, and plug in. In about 10 minutes, the fire is going and your ready to grill. I bought a second one for a gift..and they loved it, because no need for matches...which are hard to find, and no lighter fluid...and none of the lingering taste that comes with lighter fluid...especially if the person cooking doesn't know that you wait till the coals are white, then start cooking...thats if your still using lighter fluid.

I have used the Charbroil electric charcoal starter for years. It is the best way to light charcoal without fumes or taste from lighter fluid. They do burn out after a year or so of use. I can't find them in most retail stores anymore so I order them on line through Amazon.

I really like this starter. It is so much better than lighter fluid. I never have to worry about lighter fluid taste on my food ever again.I would recomend this to anyone that has a charcoal grill.
