Not as advertised. Feb 03, 2010 Planks were advertised as 13" X 7". Two of the planks were, but the other two were 13" X 6". That one inch is the difference between a salmon fillet fitting nicely on the board or not. Would not buy or recommend this product again.
Excellent for the BGE Aug 04, 2009 We bought a Big Green Egg smoker and use these on it. We plank Salmon mostly, and we have gotten 4 uses out of the plank so far. If you soak it in water really good before using it, you will get good use out of it.

Cedar Plank Conflagration May 08, 2009 Well I decided to try cedar plank grilling and I bought two sets of cedar and alder boards. I carefully followed the directions and soaked the plank in water for over an hour. I then put it on the grill, waited for it to smoke slightly and placed my salmon on the wood. I even turned the flame down under the wood. Within less than five minutes the plank was burning. I used water to put out the fire, but the damage was done. Most of the plank and my fish was reduced to ash. I've done some research and I don't think that 1/4 inch planks will work. To do this properly you should have 1/2 inch or better. This was a real waste of money.Cameron Cookware Alder and Cedar Grilling Planks, Set of 4

Give plank grilling a try! Nov 16, 2008 I don't know if the Cameron planks are any better than others I've tried, but plank grilling is great. Cedar, Adler, and others are all good and impart a nice smoky flavor and aroma to all sorts of foods. Perfect for indirect heat on a gas grill. I've had great luck getting multiple uses from planks (soak 'em well), so per use cost is less than buying wood chunks for a smoke box. Different companies have slightly different dimensions, which could be important depending on the size of your grill.

grilling planks Aug 26, 2008 Disappointing, little to no cedar flavor in the fish. Can't be used again, fell apart when tried to clean. Try another brand.
