 a small thing woulda made a BIG difference Sep 01, 2009
recieved this t-day
went to install it in my well's pump house -- fit nicely
got it all installed and turned on the well pump -- promptly srayed the whole interior of the pump house :(
the hose gasket, part #11 in the exploded parts diagram, failed to seal the connection satisfactorialy. Tightening the connection with 2 pairs of pliers slowed, but didn't stop the leakin. borrowin other washers from other water equip I happen to have didn't help either.
wasted a LOT of time fartin around with leaky fittin till I finally hit on a solution -- squeezed a bead of clear silicone round the inside of the female supply hose connector -- then seated the rubber gasket into the siliconed connection and tightened it up to pump male hose connection -- let it set up -- turned it on -- whatta ya know? NO more leak ;)
cain't understand why a *fitted* hose gasket wern't supplied WITH this product -- one that came with it fit poorly -- as did others I tried -- didn't seal completely

that's *MY* rant fer the day
NOW we'll see how well the reel performs over time ;)

Product leaks horribly. Called the company, and they were aware of the problem, but could not fix it. Have indicated this to Amazon. Now they want me to review it? Gave it one star simply because I could not give it a zero.

My husband and I love this hose reel. We now have three of them, and have had no problems with them at all. One of them was on the house when we purchased it, and we liked it so well that we bought 2 more.

We use this hose reel lightly and needed a low profile more than anything. Our car and this hose reel share a narrow parking space so the depth of the device was important. The plastic parts leak a bit but we are not using it for major watering and live where water is not in short supply.

Eventually Leaks. Feb 07, 2009
This is a really nice hose reel, except for when it begins to leak. I have purchased 2 of these so far, both eventually leaking within a year. I wouldn't buy again due to it's poor performance with leaks.
